Given the mounting evidence that public corruption could largely destroy the political, social, and economic systems, each government and society in the world has to seriously deal with the issue of public corruption. The goal of the Government Counter Corruption Strategies is to provide practitioners, students, and researchers with a useful knowledge base about public corruption and strategic approaches to preventing, reducing, and combating corruption. The book is structured around three main sections: The first section, Introduction to Public Corruption, will introduce basic concepts, typologies, and stakeholders of public corruption. The second section, Institutional Reforms and Technological Innovations, will discuss economic and political reforms as well as applications of information technologies to detect and prevent corruption. Finally, the section of International Practices of Counter Corruption will incorporate best practices, lessons, and contextual examples for the application of counter-corruption strategies in a world wide context.
