The Lesotho-Boston Health Alliance (LeBoHA), the international arm of Boston University Medical Center in Lesotho, is seeking a program manager to have major management responsibility for a multi-year European Union-funded program to strengthen four leading civil society health professional organizations in Lesotho: The Lesotho Nursing Council, The Lesotho Medical, Dental and Pharmacy Council, The Lesotho Nursing Association, and The Lesotho Medical Association. The project goals are to: • Introduce and test continuing education and relicensure programs; • Analyze policy and program issues and advocate for changes in public policy that are in each profession’s and the nation’s best interest; and • Improve the internal management policies, practices and procedures of each organization with a view toward improved efficiency and effectiveness. The Program Manager will report to and work under the direction of the LeBoHA Country Representative and be responsible for day-to-day management and implementation of the program. This position provides a rare opportunity for in-depth exposure to development assistance in a country with extensive and varied donor activity. Requires: Strong project management skills • Experience on grant funded, USAID or EU, projects preferred • Demonstrated coordination and communication skills • Excellent interpersonal skills • Strong quantitative skills • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred in a relevant field. • Compensation is a function of experience. You will be an employee of LeBoHA with air fare to and from the US or your home country at the start and end of service and once/year.
