The Indian Legal System: Governance versus Corruption - What will be the way forward in India?

Mr. Luthra, Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court and one of the top criminal defense lawyers in India, will give a talk on Governance versus Corruption​, the way forward in India. The talk will focuses on issues relating to corruption, misuse of public office and good governance in India.

The talk acknowledges that while the police and judicial agencies continue the battle against corruption, their impact is limited. In such a situation, institutions such as the judiciary and legislature, independent authorities such as the Election Commission, Lokayukta – Public Ombudsman and media and non-governmental organizations are raising the ante by creating awareness amongst  people and requiring government authorities to comply with norms of integrity, honesty and morality and seeking to make wrongdoers conscious of their accountability to the public.
