Governance in Africa: Public Seminar and Panel Discussion

If you are interested in governance in Africa and are located in Cape Town South Africa, Global Integrity Trust (Cape Town) 
in collaboration with the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, and 
in partnership with Idasa and the Institute for Security Studies, invite you to a Public Seminar and Panel Discussion on The 2011 Ibrahim Index of African Governance. 

The Ibrahim Index, established in 2007 and published by the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, is the most comprehensive collection of quantitative date that provides an annual assessment of governance performance in every African country. The Index measures the delivery of public goods and services across 86 governance indicators grouped into four overall categories:

1: Safety and Rule of Law (Rule of Law, Accountability, Personal Safety, National Security)
2: Participation and Human Rights (Participation, Rights, Gender)

3: Sustainable Economic Opportunity (Public Management, Business Environment, Infrastructure, Rural Sector)
4: Human Development (Welfare, Education, Health)

As part of our five-year partnership to generate original data across a range of governance issues throughout all 54 African countries and strengthen future iterations of the Ibrahim Index, we are co-hosting the event on Wednesday, 2nd November 2011 from 14h00-16h00 at The Armoury, Buchanan Square, 2nd Floor, 160 Sir Lowry Road.
