Corruption in Afghanistan: bribery as reported by victims
Source - UNODC
Description - Based on interviews with 7,600 people in 12 provincial capitals and more than 1,600 villages around Afghanistan, this UNODC survey records the experiences of corruption of Afghan citizens both in urban and rural areas. Findings challenge common assumptions about the country: While poverty, violence and insecurity are usually portrayed as the biggest challenges confronting Afghanistan, an overwhelming majority of Afghan people (59%) perceive corruption as their biggest concern, ahead of insecurity and unemployment.
